The grace of God is gloriously good. His grace appears in Jesus and is good news for sinners in need of cleansing and mercy. Clearly, we do not do good in order to receive grace. But once we receive grace, good should run freely and wildly through us. Crooked things should begin to become straight because the church is near. The question of Titus is simple: is God’s grace in us spreading God’s good through us? In this series, we will discover three reasons for the diminishing of the church’s eagerness to do what is good: lack of godliness in leadership, in relationships, and in doctrine. Our hope is that we will grow as a people gripped by grace who say “no” to ungodliness and worldly passions and lead self-controlled, upright, and godly lives. Grace bridles self-destroying passions, tames our self-consumed posturing, and tethers our heart to truth. Grace does good.
